Happy Friday, IT Professionals!

I hope you’re holding NVDA shares, because they’ve been going absolutely insane.

In other news, ScarJo and OpenAI are having a bit of a feud.

Lewis Pope (Head Security Nerd at N-Able) stopped by the studio to chat about CyberSecurity Best Practices for companies with a low budget.

If you don’t have time for the whole video, you can check out my notes and some links to resources here.

Finally, IT Support Premium Membership is in full-swing. We launched only a month ago but have a vibrant community that meets every week. I’m planning on filming some instructional content about DevOps and Cloud skills for every premium member. Won’t you consider subscribing?

5 Minute Career Advice

Invert, always invert.

That quote was a favorite of Charlie Munger, who borrowed it from Carl Jacobi, an ancient algebraist.

You can use inversion to try to solve any difficult problem.

One might be the career path you want to follow in IT or which types of company you’d like to work for.

For example, make a list of “Companies I never want to work for” and “Traits of companies I never want to work for”.

List all of the specific companies you’d never work for and the reasons why.

Then, invert.

What are the opposite traits of companies you’d like to work for?

You should have a pretty specific and clear list.

Inversion is simple and can help you solve many problems.

If you could use some help shaping your career and getting clear on your goals, consider upgrading to This is an IT Support Group’s premium membership.

You’ll get access to a community of likeminded go-getters who are seeking to learn and improve themselves.
